District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission (Commission) is pleased to announce the nomination of Judge Rahkel Bouchet to be an Associate Judge of the 高等法院 of the District of Columbia, filling a judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Frederick H. 韦斯伯格.

1月8日, 2018, the Commission submitted to the President a list of three c和idates for his consideration in selecting a nominee to fill this judicial vacancy. 根据D.C. 法典§1-204.34(d)(1), the President must select a nominee within 60 days. 如果总统不这么做, the Commission is required to nominate one of the three c和idates it had recommended to the President, 和, with the advice 和 consent of the Senate, 任命那个人填补空缺. 法官Bouchet serves as a Magistrate Judge in the 高等法院 of the District of Columbia. 在她2016年上任之前, 法官Bouchet, in 2008, formed a private litigation practice 和 litigated criminal 和 family matters in the District of Columbia metropolitan area.
